Domestic violence response blog 11

Domestic violence happens more often then we think. The project in the rotunda titled "Domestic Violence" linked the NFL to it and that struck me as genuis because sometimes we forget how frequently this occurs and how serious it can really be, even with famous people we often look up to. According to their research, most domestic violence incidents are not reported. This is due to fear which the victims live in constantly and begin to feel they will forever.
Generally, people like to say "If I was getting abused I would just leave the guy/girl" and they fail to put themselves in the victims shoes. "Just leaving" may not be as easy as it sounds. The violence occurs mainly because the partner may notice changes in behavior towards them and tense up, resulting in all types of violence just to keep a sense of ownership and control in the relationship. Other times the victim will still love the abuser and feel trouble breaking away due to safety issues or denial of the situation. The written portion of the project did a great job displaying this argument and information along with the visual created. The visual gave a unique perspective on the topic by beautifully presenting a tragedy. Walking away from it, I had the sense that it was saying that something so horrible can be displayed and hidden, to make it seem okay.
