JFK Conspiracy Theory (Blog #10)

There are many different conspiracy theories on the JFK assassination. Altogether, there are an estimated total of 42 groups, 82 assassins, and 214 people had been accused in various Kennedy assassination conspiracy theories. Here are some of the most common conspiracy theories.

The first is that the CIA was upset with the changes their company was seeing after the Bay of the Pigs invasion failure. They didn't want their agents to be discharged so they assassinated Kennedy. This is not an outrageous statement. Forensic historians have stated that there had to be more than one gunman.

Another theory is that the Mafia was angry with Robert Kennedy, who was the Attorney General at the time, for wanting to crack down on organized crime. An alternative is that the Mob was working with anti-Castro exile groups that were trying to take down John F. Kennedy.

The Soviets are also suspected by conspiracy theorists. The Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 gave the Soviet security agency KGB very good reasons not to like Kennedy. One version of the theory is that Lee Harvey Oswald, the man charged with killing JFK, was acting as a KGB operative.

Another argument is that Lyndon Johnson was motivated by political gain to assassinate Kennedy. He and JFK had many political conflicts and personal issues in the past.

Most of these theories seem a little far-fetched to me but I do know that many claim that there had to be more than one gunman. Many of these theories would support having more than one gunman. The JFK assassination truly was a national tragedy and it is not unreasonable for many people to fall back to conspiracy theories to explain such a terrible thing.
