Blessed are you who are poor blog #9

"And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: 'Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God...'" Luke 6:20

"A righteous man knows the rights of the poor; a wicked man does not understand such knowledge" Proverbs 29:7

"Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished" Proverbs 17:5

"Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Luke 12:32-34

The list can go on and on, bible verses on poverty. I know this may sound odd, but that's the way I want to live. I want to live in poverty. I want to live in poverty like Jesus did. I want to live in poverty because they are blessed. I want to live in poverty because I don't want to worry about things of this world. Think about it if you don't have anything what do you have to lose? That's probably a really bad point but you know what I mean. Think of all the unnecessary struggles and stressors we face in a time where simplicity is nonexistent. Constantly needing more is no way to live, because you'll never be satisfied. How many times have people got into fights over Facebook or Twitter, stupid things that weigh us down. I know I'm jumping around here but bear (?) with me. We live in a really odd world. Things happen that make me want to cry, but I have to remember the light at the end of the tunnel. This life is not forever, I know it may seem like it when classes are only forty minutes but they seem like eternity. If your reading this, take this as a sign. Go out there and live your life. Quit being a viewer from the sidelines and be an active participant. I know for myself this is a struggle. I get caught up in the routine, sleep, school, homework, Netflix; sleep, school, homework, Netflix; and I forget how precious life is. Be grateful whether your in the top 1%, who own half of the world's wealth, or in the bottom one percent, who can barely feed themselves. Be grateful for you life, it's a miracle, YOU are a miracle. "Freely ye have received, freely give" Matthew 10:8
