Thirst Project
Clean drinking water isn't something that us Americans think of as a privilege, considering we have an endless supply at a finger tip. However in other countries, people don't have this privilege. It's the twenty-first century, we have phones that talk to us, so why are people still struggling for something as simple as clean water. About 80% of global diseases are water-borne and approximately 4,100 child die every day from these diseases. Young children, mainly girls, have to travel 3.75 miles to collect water. These children are collecting water for their families rather than going to school and getting an education. The Thirst Project is an organization that focuses on giving people in Uganda to Kenya clean drinking water for life. Only $20 can give an individual clean drinking water for 20 plus years. There are how many students in our high school? 1,000? 2,000? Now if only 750 of these students gave just $4, that'll provide about 150 struggling humans the chance to survive and better their lives. $20 really isn't a lot of money, but $4? Four dollars to give someone a chance to live, a chance to get an education, a chance to keep their family alive. Think about it.

I think this is a great project. Why don't we stage a fundraiser? Come see me and let's talk.
