Both cases are relatively small scale attacks, but the plan set forth by President Obama is being successfully carried out. There is no major bomb that will wipe out large chunks of the Islamic state, but mini attacks will effectively destroy weapons of war, ISIS compounds and any isolated persons or objects affiliated with ISIS.
The positive of these attacks is that it avoids any possibility of there being innocent casualties. (Even though most civilians have fled into neighboring nations like Lebanon and Turkey). The most frustrating aspect of this is that the citizens of Iraq and Syria and forced to be removed from their homes, jobs, schools and become refugees in foreign areas.
Hopefully these airstrikes continue to be successful in part of Obama's 4 step plan. Maybe after several more of these attacks are completed, a difference will be made against the fight with the Islamic State. International efforts from other global powers are quickly ensuing, especially from Great Britain who has ordered the Royal Air Force to also perform airstrikes.
Executions are still taking place and ISIS is showing no signs of budging, it doesn't look like this conflict is ending anytime soon. Even Congress is contemplating whether to consider this an official war.
