What is 20 Million? blog #2

How much is 20 million people? Well, the entire continent of Australia is 20 million. Or even the country of Aruba 2,000 times. How about where we live? Long Island itself contains 7.5 million people so double that and thats how many people were killed in the Holocaust. The Nazis decimated the Jews, Gypsies, Poles and other Slavs, nearly making their population extinct. 

Being that 20 million innocent humans were killed, it is very rare to be able to find survivors. On Long Island there are quite a few heroes. I had the honor to meet some survivors and it is truly life changing.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    The stories they told about their friends and family is crazy to think about because each one of their lives mean something. Just think about your life. How meaningful and precious. Now, multiply that by 20 million. So many lives were taken in the World War I era I cannot fathom how it changed the World forever.
