PTSD From War ( Blog # 3)

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is as  is a type of anxiety disorder It can occur after you have gone through an extreme emotional trauma that involved the threat of injury or death. Many soldiers have suffered from PTSD from the war and were reliving the horrific scenes that had taken place when they were overseas fighting for their country. Due to  the more powerful bombs and weapons and the fact that there were much more casualties in world war 2 they noticed that almost every soldier that had survived in this deadly war were suffering from Ptsd. Its unbelievably sad that an average of 22 veterans commit suicide each day and the number will sadly increase since war has just become way more deadly due to the weapons. the highest number of suicides are men ages 50-59 cause they can no longer deal with the nightmares that occur each and everyday. 20 percent of soldiers returning from Afghanistan and Iraq get involved in drugs or drink heavily to reduce there pain. i'm glad to say that there are so many support groups all around the country for soldiers that are for soldiers suffering from the disorder such as Wounded Warrior Program, U.S  Department of Veteran Affairs, recovery ranch, etc.Soldiers appear as strong men but war just breaks apart your body so the least we can do as U.S citizens is take care of soldiers returning from war.
