Hector VS Achilles

This image shows Hector’s body being dragged across the floor by Achilles. Achilles hooked Hector’s Achilles tendon and attached it to the chariot dragging its body across the city of Trojan. During the fight between Achilles and Hector, Hector was wearing Achilles’ armor, so Achilles was filled with aggravation and wanted to kill Hector immediately and that’s what he did. Achilles killed Hector by breaking his neck, but he wasn’t satisfied just yet. The cause of this fight was because Hector killed Achilles good friend, Patroclus during battle. Originally Hector thought he killed Achilles because Patroclus was wearing Achilles’ armor. So when Hector took the helmet off of Achilles’ armor he saw that he actually killed Achilles good friend Patroclus.  When Achilles found out that Hector killed Patroclus he was filled with anger and wanted to get his revenge and kill Hector once and for all.
Achilles realized that if he was going to kill Hector he would die soon, but he was willing to take the risk. The only thing Hector asked from Achilles was that if he or Achilles died was that they would give their body to their city so that they could have a correct funeral so that their body could go into afterlife, but Achilles refused his offer and when he killed Hector he dragged his body across Trojan as you can see in the picture. In my opinion dragging Hector’s body across the city of Trojan, where everyone loved him was a little harsh.  He could have just given Hector’s body to the city of Trojan but when he said he wanted revenge he meant it. So overall dragging Hector’s lifeless body was pretty  and cruel and in my opinion he should have just gave Hector’s body back to Trojan.
