Vietnam War (Blog 4)

This political cartoon reflecting the Vietnam War is deeply affective. I think this cartoon means that in Vietnam the war took innocent people who only wanted peace, and shredded them into a million peaces. The Vietnam War changed people, and not for the better. It made people very different in many ways. People became so invested in the war that they became the war. For example, in The Sweet Song of Tra Bong, a text we read in class, a character Mary Anne became the war. She wore a necklace of tongues around her neck, and she comes out in the darkness. She used to be so sweet, young, and innocent and now she is the war. In A Perfect Day for Bananafish by Jd Salinger, another text we read in class, Seymore Glass was a war veteran. The war affected him so much that he ended out killing himself right at the end of the text. In conclusion, war affects people, even innocent civilians.
