War (post 4)

"GO! GO! GO!"

"RELOAD!"

"LOCK TARGET!"

"FIRE!"

"SHOOT!"

Words that resound not only in war, but in the minds of the soldiers. They are conditioned to be strong, steady, be precise, rise up, and kill but humans can only take so much. They are pawns with strong exteriors but, on the inside, they are hurt and afraid humans. The injuries are not only on the outside, but on the inside too. The horrors of war brand them. They don't make the nightmares of war, the nightmares of war make them. War transforms people. Some come back missing part of was once them, PTSD, injuries and some don't come back at all. How long will we let war be our "solution" to everything when it solves nothing. People are getting hurt and dying. What is our goal? Why is do we resort to war? Where have our words gone?
